EdenFantasys: Shunga Carnal Pleasures Collection

I have absolutely fallen in love with Toko Silicone lubricant by Shunga that my partner had gotten for review. I wanted to try something else from this line and decided on the Carnal Pleasures collection. I’ll be honest in saying my partner and I have slightly fallen into a rut. Blame school, family, life, whatever. I wanted to give our slightly sluggish sex life a swift kick in the ass and was hoping this kit (and some lingerie) would do just that.

The Carnal Pleasure kit comes nicely packaged in a cylindrical tin. Everything inside was well sealed and nothing was leaking. I took the easy to remove cap off and slid everything out. A little instruction booklet covers all the included materials with tips on how to use them. Ingredients are listed on the side of each package.

Soft Moves Masssage Cream – Mint- 6.75 ounces

The massage cream in the instructions says it’s mint flavored and scented- save yourself the trouble and don’t try it! They claim delicious: I claim repulsive. BUT as a massage cream it works well. It goes on the skin nicely, the mint creates a very subtle sensation that feels great, and there’s no greasy residue after. I give this a 3.5/5.

Intimate Kisses Aphrodisiac Oil- Grape- 3.5 ounces

The bottle this comes in is adorable: glass with a small cork. The flavor, orgy of grapes, tastes identical to Dimetapp. So good tasting, but not great. (Hey, I liked it as a child!) It warms up slightly when you rub it. Gently blow on it and it warms up even more. It didn’t really do much for me sexually, but I enjoyed using a small amount on my partner’s penis when I went down on him. If used on the body, be prepared to shower afterwards as it does feel slightly sticky. It’s important to note this does contain glycerin, which can cause problems for some women. I give this a 3/5.

Sweet Snow Edible Body Powder with Feather- Raspberry- 8 ounces

This sounds like a great idea. It really does. The included feather is well constructed and is a very nice foreplay aid. The dust reminds me of a very fine pixie stick, without the tart kick. It’s raspberry flavored and tastes pretty good. The only downfall is, you are essentially icing your partner. This can lead to a lot of stickiness. Make sure you plan on washing both yourselves and the sheets after you use it. It was quite enjoyable, but just be prepared for the clean up. If it wasn't such a mess, it'd be a much more enjoyable product. I give this a 2/5

Erotic Massage Oil- Fruit -8 ounces

This product is very close to being my favorite in the collection. It’s the easiest to use packaging, a simple touch and the cap opens up, push and it closes. It smells great and reminds me of Bubblicious. The scent is very faint after absorbed, so don’t worry about using this and then being required to take a shower. It glides onto the skin very easily and only leaves a slight oil residue (it is oil based), which hasn’t transferred to my sheets or clothing. As long as you take the time to rub it in thoroughly, there isn’t much clean up. This is the only product in the collection that isn’t edible, but its still great. I give this a 4.5/5.

Sensations Balm- Blazing Cherry- 2 ounces

This is my favorite product despite the taste. Sadly, it’s the only product you cannot purchase alone. This is a very generous sized tub that has a 7.5% benzocaine numbing agent. With similar products, to get 2 ounces, you’d be spending upwards of $30. It, quite honestly, smells and tastes like cough syrup. BUT as this is a numbing agent, you really shouldn’t taste it because numbing your mouth/throat to help with giving fellatio is a bad, bad idea. The only safe practice (in my mind at least) of this product is to use it as a delaying agent. I slip a small amount on my partners penis, allow it to sit for 10 minutes, make sure it’s either all absorbed or wipe off excess, and then prepare myself for a prolonged sex session. It does the job very well and I’m happy with how long this tub will last. I give this a 5/5.

This kit had some hits and misses. The Sensations and Erotic Massage Oil have gotten quite a bit of usage in my bedroom. The feather tickler I also enjoy using for foreplay, but leave the messy & sticky Sweet Snow out. The Soft Moves and Intimate kisses were both just average products, but still nice to use. Besides the major miss, Sweet Snow, I think this kit contains some high quality, full size products that are great to use. Overall I rate the Carnal Pleasures collection 4/5.
